They're both good, but TBH I like the way the TV show did it better.

The TV show is only missing about 80 hours of random side quests. We got a bit of that in the show but if Season 2 isn't just watching Witcher pick flowers then we riot.

Finished episode 5 last night. Really enjoying the series. Especially the non-linear storytelling, feels very fresh, and adds layers of meaning onto the characters as they go.

Haven't played the games yet. I've had Witcher 3 sitting on the top of my pile of shame for a year now. Will have to get it started.

Netflix seasons are 2 years apart. It better have at least 10 episodes next time around though.

Seems to me Cavill's Geralt is based more on the game character than the books. I haven't read any of them, didn't know Geralt was a talker in the books, per that article anyway.

Meh, not important to me, I loved the performance.

I think the season could have been improved for non witcher fans, if they added a bloody "year 1253" or whatever for each scene, as some of the scenes are so far apart in the timeline, and also doesn't help that Geralt's kept time jumping around.

The show is pretty good, but they need to do a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better job of pacing and letting you know when they are doing a flashback and when it is in present time. It does too much jumping around between past and present with zero notification that it's doing so, leading to much confusion. I hope they fix that in season 2 (seems like a glaring oversight).

Altered Carbon had more sex in it. The Witcher shows a lot of skin (especially Yennefer) but not much in the way of people doing the horizontal mambo.

I thought the shifting timelines was a unique and fun way to tell the story. Figuring out not only what but when was engaging. The way the entire series converged characters and timelines into a single season ending climax was excellent. Can’t wait for next season.

Altered carbon had more skin in one single scene than the entire Witcher series. Seriously, that fight with the clones had more nudity than every other movie I've seen combined.

Just started watching this, up to episode 4 now. Really enjoying it, they nailed the feel of The Witcher as far as I can tell.

I never read the books, only played the games and too not recently so I do at times need to look up names and events to refresh the memory or learn about stuff from the books. But I'm liking it. This series is obviously in some good hands of people who are knowledgeable of and care for this franchise. Too bad we cant say the same for some other fandoms these days!
