Default Battlefield 2 Preview with 2 new screens

Man, this game is gonna be a blast!

From Fragland...

Now that I read it, the preview is pretty poorly written...it is basically a guy just drooling over the e3 presentation, but I thought the new screenies were nice.

I hear this game has Dynamic map scaling.
So the more people join in, the bigger the map gets and vice versa.
GOOD IDEA!

In one recent interview, the devs were asked how much of the buildings, etc, are destroyable.

They said in the beginning they playtested it where everything was destructable, but that it got to the point where ewveryone sat around and blew stuff up until the level architecture no longer existed, so they toned it down to bridges and stuff like that.

Yes nice detail level

I like F.E.A.R too .. after watching the demos posted a couple days ago .. that game looks like fun too.. HL2 is old news compared to some of the new games coming out.

HL2 should have been released months ago, its old news and old graphics compared to some of the new releases

Reasons why it’s worth to be a PC gamer in 2012.

- The hardest thing about getting a Mac is telling your parents that you're gay.

- If I had the choice between being gay and owning a Mac, I would rather be gay, because if I owned a Mac I would be both gay and own a horrible computer.

- Imagine a giant cock flying towards your mouth, and there's nothing you can do about it. And you're like "Oh man, I'm gonna have to suck this thing", and you brace yourself to suck this giant cock. But then, at the last moment, it changes trajectory and hits you in the eye. You think to yourself "Well, at least I got that out of the way", but then the giant cock rears back and stabs your eye again, and again, and again. Eventually, this giant cock is penetrating your gray matter, and you begin to lose control of your motor skills. That's when the giant cock slaps you across the cheek, causing you to fall out of your chair. Unable to move and at your most vulnerable, the giant cock finally lodges itself in your anus, where it rests comfortably for 4, maybe 5 hours. That's what using Mac OSX is like.

No, he is correct. The more people the more area is available in the map. It's a couple of concentric circles. When it gets to a certain limit, another circle is opened up. I read it in CGW

Nice use of per pixel lighting. I hope it's not just a rehash using the same ****** refractor engine. Hopefully they will have improved the physics and netcode so that infantery don't feel so sluggish and laggy. Hopefully EA won't ruin it

agreed.. they need to make a completely new engine based on their experience level.. BF2 needs to be much improved in physics and model-environment interaction as well as improved graphics (vs BF42/V).. the screenies look good but feeling how it plays is another story.. I get the feeling it will be good but we'll see...

I guess you guys have not read any of the previews?

There is a new physics engine that has at least some level of ballistics detail (you cant hide behind a little piece of wood and expect it to block a barret sniper rifle anymore...), rag-doll is of course in, and the graphics I think speak for themselves from the screenshots.

If the difference from BF:V, much less BF:1942 is not evident by those, then I don't know what one expects...

Ya, the lighting on the people and tanks is good, but it still seems to use lightmaps for casting shadows on the ground.

I hope they change that before the game ships.

yeah, that is cool but I mean more than that, or soemtihng else at the least.. BF has a laggy way of moving and interaction between your player model and the world/ojects.. this affects game play simply from a response time perspective.. so, that's why I meant a new engine was required, not just for the other goodies, but good to know they will be there as well...
