![]() Meh, the CPU market is stagnant, nothing really impressive, performance boost maybe 10%. Higher TDP though? Haswell 4790K is 88w this is 7w more? That means hotter even though its node change? Am I missing something here?

![]() I think until some major breakthrough occurs in regards to CPU logistics, there isn't going to be any more "major" jumps in performance. Just lots of little incremental improvements and tweaks. |

![]() Urfgh, still no 6-8 core CPUs for the 'mainstream' market? Come on Intel. I've been rolling with 6-8 (x2 HT) Xeons for years now, I'd want some mainstream versions for gaming PCs.

![]() They don't need to, there's no real competitor for them to up their game, so it's gonna be like this until AMD steps it up |

![]() Yawn, and more yawn. No mainstream 6-8 core CPUs means no news. I'll continue to rock my i5 3570K.

![]() DDR4 plus rumours of 20% or more IPC increase. I'll probably grab one, as I'm always desperate for more IPC performance. I hope DDR4 has better latencies by then, last time I looked they were horrid.

![]() ~15% higher IPC at 200mhz lower clocks. If it can oc to say 4.8, that should be the equivalent of Haswell at around 5.6GHz.

![]() Apparently, this is one of the new motherboards that will support Skylake. Took me a while to realise there even was a motherboard in that shot. ![]() ![]() |

![]() My 2600K runs at 4.3G on stock voltage and near 5GHz if I overvolt. It's 4 years old. I would like to see some OCs on Skylake and comparisons against Sandy and Ivy.

![]() Well, since my CPU is degrading and can no longer keep the clocks at 4.5 GHz even due to excessive heat, I am going to be purchasing a new computer by the end of the year. 6700K or 5930K it is. |

![]() It did at that time. However given heat is now 38C and my putter is against a wall, it was overheating until I reduced it down to 4.2 gigawatts. |
