Default Will ATI 4800 series support direct compute

using DirectCompute Benchmark 0.25 it does not show ATI 4800 series cards as being DirectCompute compatiable. I using windows 7 home premium. Just another note using my other comps with Asus 295gtx will let me use DirectCompute Benchmark 0.25.

What driver version are you running?

Also, from the notes in the Directcompute benchmark:

Quote:
Catalyst currently doesn't support DirectCompute on DX10/10.1 GPUs

IPv16 expands on this theme. That will be described later when needed.

1. only the HD4 series and up supports directcompute and openCL
2. I don't think the HD4 series has driver support for direct compute yet, probably in 9.11's though.
3. That benchmark does not seem to utilize ATI cards to their full potential. People on some forum have experimented. (read this in a relevant thread at techpowerup)

The 5700 seem to be performing the same as 5800. And what does 'multi-threaded' mean?
