I'm assuming that's SP b/c in MP you'd never get other tank drivers to move in formation like that w/you. Plus there's no lil guys running around on the ground to grind up with the machine guns.

Oh, and yeah, there's tanks in MP. And 'copters. And boats. And now fighter jets.

I've been trying to join an MP game for at least the last 10 minutes...

By the time anything happens as a result of me pushing the join server button, the server is full..

I pressed the "Quick Match" button 5 minutes ago and still nothing..

Anyone else having these troubles?

Edit: I finally managed to join a game and then CTD'd =(

Also pahn, I am pretty sure you would have to buy a MP server for yourself. Or be lucky and find empty ones.

Find a 16-player server playing on the large maps, that's a good way to start off.

Last night, I played on a 16-player server with only 3 people total. It was 2-vs-1, with me being on the 2-player team for a few rounds, and then being the odd guy out for a few other rounds. I had a blast!

So what are the maps like, that's my greatest concern. Are they the traditional monstrous Battlefield maps, or are there a ton of annoying small "Call of a duty" maps?

Been reading reviews stuck at work. The IGN review was a complete waste of time and said absolutely nothing about the game. The review at 1UP though is a lot better.

Played a couple hours of SP last night. I just used the "Auto" setting for Video which put textures on Ultra, everything else on High, Deferred AA Disabled, 16x AF, HBAO enabled... and the game ran without a single hitch! I was actually a bit surprised considering how dated my system is (minus the new "budget" 6970). I'm going to get some actual FPS numbers tonight.

SP was fantastic. I don't know what the guys were smoking who subtracted points for SP in the reviews. It looks stunning, runs like silk and it's simply epic.

Have played about 2 hours or so of MP now as well. The game is a triumph. Pure and simple. I hope that the other military shooter crashes and burns hard this year, BF3 is worth it. A true leap to the next gen.

Hmmm, I'm sure that most people's opinion, but personally I am enjoying the single player. It isn't AMAZING, but it isn't bad by any means. I don't mind it being linear at all. I like feeling like I'm part of a story or movie and "along for the ride". As soon as I'm done with it I'm playing MP anyway.
