Uh that is a Render not a photo and I doubt even going with the die shrink they will abandon the dual PCI-E power connectors. Even if PCI-E 2.0 gives 150w instead of 75w, that would be very limiting on who could by the card.

You have to remember, it's 55nm. That is about a 35%/40% power reduction from 80nm. Assuming the power leakeage is much better than R600 on RV670, it could very well consume less than 150w.

Then again, it's pretty intresting that it's rendered as a dual slot.

I thought, from that other thread, that it was a single slot solution? The power consumption will go down with the 55nm fab.

I'm thinking it is a dual slot dispite what the VR-zone says. My x1800 consumes less than 150w but it's dual slot.

Depends on what the actual power usage is IMHO. If they can get it down to say <100W, I think a single slot solution would work just fine. Personally, I dont care. I have plenty of room for dual dual, slot cooling...(sli/xfire) Mmmmm Antec Nine Hundred is a sweet sweet case....mmmmm
