Mobility Radeon HD 4550 with Switchable Graphics?
HP is too lazy to give us an updated driver for Mobility Radeon HD 4550 and there doesn't seem to be any other sources for it, since they made the only laptop that has this card in a switchable graphics setup. It's a non-standard driver so I can't simply get the driver from AMD.My problem is that some games, such as Dota 2 and Dead Island, don't work with the old version of Catalyst. I get weird artifacts all over the screen that prevent me from playing. What new technologies did the updates introduce that the new games require? (Interestingly, my Intel graphics work fine with Dota 2--albeit at a lower resolution.) Is there a workaround of some sort? I'm willing to use a hacked driver, if that's what it takes.
