I think Furlong only has a small role in this one.

I want to see this even more now even tho the trailer was terrible.

I think he dies nonsensically (somebody mentioned a rumored "bar fight" scene) in the first few minutes of the movie thus giving rise to the new girl that they now have to protect (likely his "daughter") who will inevitably become what he was supposed to become an yet again further distorting the timeline. Have no idea on the female/human terminator hybrid whatever's story though.

EDIT: If I correctly figured this out, I should have been a modern Hollywood writer because I did it in just a few minutes.

I could be completely off though.

well a lot of the leaks seems to be confirmed true with this set of news.
Still a ton of question marks but its pretty much a done deal.

I thought the new trailer (well comic con sizzle reel) looks better than the first trailer.

Given the current appetite in Hollywood for strong female leads, this wouldn't surprise me.

I haven't seen very much of that. But if it's true it's appreciated.

i mean, the original two Terminators (the ones that matter) had a strong female lead.
I don't understand what point you're trying to make.

I hope they man him up so we have a dude kicking some butt as well and not have him still crying and begging everyone to not kill anyone like in the T2. Eventually he has to become the 'great leader

Cameron can deliver.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Just my observation that most movies these days seem to have strong female leading characters, so therefore I would not be surprised if that rumor is true.

Not trying to trigger anyone. Just my personal observation. But hey, I could be wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edward Furlong has been nothing short of an epic trainwreck since T2 came out. The chances of them being able to make him look and act like an intelligent military leader are slim to none.

My only hope is he shows up and they quickly kill him off and reveal Sarah had a second son sometime in the last 30 years and he takes the name and becomes what John Connor should have been.

I don't know why they're bringing him back. You know who played John Connor better than Edward Furlong? Nick Stahl of Terminator 3. Captured Edward Furlong's young character fluidly as an adult, down to his quirks, behavior, tone, facial expressions, even the relationship with Arnold as a father figure.

The real Edward Furlong might just **** that character up. We'll see.

Ya Stahl did a great job. The story was great too in T3 but it killed Off Sarah Connor offscreen because Hamilton wouldnt do it... Had she been in it a good film wouldve been pretty great.

You are absolutely right. Linda Hamilton is a strong lead (gender shouldn't matter, Hollywood needs to learn this lesson fast).

Those two new girls...not likely. At best they will be moderately entertaining. Hopefully they will at least not be forgettable.

Dialog from the trailer:

Grace: "Why do you care what happens to her?"
Sarah: "Because I was her."

Notice it's not "because she's my granddaughter duh".

I heard rumors Robert Patrick would make an appearance, but unless he's an un-credited cameo, I can't find any info on it.

I've mentioned it before, but my dream Terminator movie would have John Conner played by Jack Black, and the evil terminator played by Mr. Bean. Best movie of all time!

Rowan Atkinson could've totally be a terrifying villain for some movies, something like ledger joker or hopkin hannibal are characters that Atkinson could've pulled off, it just probably he doesn't want to do such roles.
