AGP x4 probs on VP6 using Fire GL 8800
hi, i final got a new graphic card, the ATI FireGL 8800...purrrr bargin at £248+VAT, it works fine part from i can't get it to work at AGP x4.....! i have got a Abit VP6 updated the bois got the latest service pack from VIA reinstalled the graphics card with the latest windows 2000 drivers, and i have put on the new SP3 for win 2k aswell......arghhhhh dam technology can anyone help us? |

i saw this on the VIA FAQ page Category: AGP, display & 3D problems Question: I cannot get 4x AGP working with my ATI video card. Answer: Some older VIA chipsets do not have 4x AGP support. Because of this, ATI has disabled 4x AGP support in their drivers when it detects any VIA chipset, whether that chipset supports 4x AGP or not. For further support on this issue, please contact ATI. does anybody know any way round this? |
