Default Powerful cards, dirt cheap

If anyone armed with an X1650, X800, or similar card is looking for a cheap and effective upgrade, now's the time. Newegg recently dropped the price of the ASUS EAX1950 Pro from $150 to $119.

This is a nice card. Yeah, it's not DX10. But you're not going to get a DX10 card with this performance level anytime soon. It's fast, and with the built-in cooling system, it runs VERY cool. I can personally vouch for this card.

Those who insist on the cutting edge will scoff, but this is a LOT of bang for the buck.

DnL is still being judged by the masses

Yes good value BUT HD3850 is here to stay.

If you wait for holydays you can get one of those for $160+ prices, maybe.
You get the DX9 performance you need, Good DX10 performance and compatibility down the road (crossfire when fixed will give you a big boost)

Yes, fan-like reply

Oh, looky there, broken image links that I didn't know about until I quoted

Anway, yeah, I'd agree, if you're spending $$ on ATi low/mid right now I think the 3850 would be the right choice. (coming from a relatively happy 1950Pro owner)
