![]() I just purchased an Athlon XP 2600+ with 333MHZ FSB to put in may Asus A7V333 rev1.01 mb, and it is overclocking my PCI bus to 42MHz. So I guess I will have to buy a new mb. I´m thinking on the Asus A7V8X-X because it is cheapper. I don´t need raid, SATA, etc. I just want a stable and good mb that supports my new processor. I will not return it because it is too difficult. Do you think it is a good replacement for my A7V333? Or do you think I should save and get an A7N8x or an A7V600??? thanks. |

![]() Definatly the Abit NF7-S if you want to overclock and want alot of features. If you just want a board with basic feature and good base performance, the A7N8X-X. The A7N8X-X is the "value" version of the Nforce2 lineup, basic features, nothing fancy. Whereas the NF7-S is one of the "enthusiast" boards, everything you could want minus IGP or a 2nd LAN, and plenty of BIOS options for tweaking. Strangely enough, the value nforce2 boards tend to be a better performer at stock speeds when the RAM isn't stressed (it only has single channel capabilities, not dual channel). But once you get into something RAM intensive, the extra bandwidth provided by dual channel on the more expensive boards is a good helper.

![]() If I understand right, the extra bandwith provided by dual-channel mb is worth it. Are only A7N8X motherboards dual-channel compatible? What do you think about A7V600? I´m between these two: A7N8X and A7V600. thanks. Last edited by psychogmv : Sep 13, 2003 at 02:24 AM. |

![]() this is my first system with Abit and amd. ABIT board seems to be very feature-full when it comes to overclocking options.

![]() Well, the place I'll buy it the 8RDA+ is 163 dollars and the MSI k7N2 Delta-L is 152 dollars. So I am a bit confused. I read at tom's website that the MSI is a good performer. In your place, what would you get? PS- I'm from Brazil, so don't be scared with the prices. |

![]() I think they will both perform about the same. The epox probably has mor OC features. Never owned an epox but had a few MSI and was happy with all of them (except for OC) ![]()

![]() I built a computer for a cousin with 8RDA+ and 2500+ plus and everything went well. Stable at 200x11.5 or 11, 1.750v, 60C with default hsf that came with 2500+.
