Default Disney Infinity

Got this for my daughter for Christmas.. its already seen many hours of play..

Im really impressed by the sandbox mode and all that it has to offer.. I keep trying to push her into playing the missions so she can open more items but she loves building in the open world so much she keeps telling me no lol..

The opening sequence to the game is so cool with the world building around you as you move through it.. had me smiling through out..

My wife and I got Disney infinity for my daughter and it kinda stole the show over Skylanders swap-force. We played both and she was more interested in the infinity set. The world building is what she loves as well, but she loves driving around in a car in the Incredible's World, uh.... she kinda likes mowing down the little people. I tell her that she should try the missions but nooooo she likes to attempt vehicular homicide....

Yeah, don't get it for the Wii. No 2 player except in sandbox.

Also, my kids are really digging it. Got it for the xbox and they have played it tons.

The kids had fun in sandbox mode for a day or so then started playing Lego Marvel Super Hero's and have played nothing else since.

When they get back to it make sure they play the play set mode.. that way they'll unlock tons of stuff for sandbox.

I got this (2.0 starter pack) for my daughter today for the PS3 and a few characters. Apart from it crashing immediately when you start 2 player mode, it seems pretty boring. There's only a few playsets available and it seems like all the Toy Box stuff is just areas for you to run around in and not do much. She's too young to build anything, she can barely control her character. So, that aspect of it won't be used anytime soon.

Am I missing something here?

you could've got the (free) pc version......

If she's too young to control the char then she's maybe......TOO YOUNG!

The playsets are just a way to unlock some stuff. I played the pc version for some time and yes, it gets somehow boring after a while, but well, it's intended for kids - not so much for adults. The other thing i really hated was the need to pay real money for getting most of the "extra" stuff like other chars and so on. Most kids i know really liked to build stuff for hours, they weren't that much interested in quests if at all. It's a bit like me & my lady when it comes to The Sims. While i concentrated on career 'n stuff she simply cheated some billions and after that concentrated on building room after room....after room.....after roo ZZzzZzZZzzZzzzz room....

I got the game so she and I could play together which is why we would want to play on a console (controller is easier for her to use than mouse/keyboard too).

My kids love this game. I bought it for the Wii U, and my God is that console slow as piss to load anything with this game. I kinda wish I had got it for the PS3 instead.

i understand, although you can simply hook up the ps3-controllers to a pc and simply save the money for the ps3-game. How old is your lil sunshine?

She's almost 4 now.

This may be a non-issue as I may return this as this is the response I just got from Disney Infinity support about the 2-player crashing...
Quote:
I can see that you have one of the oldest versions of the PlayStation 3, which has been known to have issues with being able to handle the two player aspect of Disney Infinity. There currently isn't an fix to this issue, simply because the hardware is the main issue.

What we can suggest is that you contact PlayStation to see if they can give you any information about how you can the most out of your older system.
