Oh so you gays using FXAA and HDAO. That is what was keeping fps in the 60s? I used 3D and MSAA. Also maxed out everything else that I possibly could.

Anyways, not installing again. Time to put some hours in other games.

i'm on a 4k 40 inch screen so don't need as much aa as 1440p

3D and MSAA I drop into the 30's

Seems like the game has issues with ryzen though.

Starting comparative benchmarks with 1080p and Highest settings, the Intel i7-7700K chart-tops at 171FPS AVG, which is bumping against the 200FPS frame cap that’s enabled by default. This means that frametime latencies faster than 5ms will be capped to 5ms, and so will drag down the average below what could be possible. The next CPU in line is the i5-7600K stock CPU, performing at 157FPS AVG, 104 FPS 1% lows, and 87FPS 0.1% lows. This is trailed next by the i3-7350K at 131FPS AVG, with lows at 88 1% and 79FPS 0.1%. Our overclocked R7 1700 – effectively a stand-in for the 1700X and 1800X as well, since they all can achieve similar clocks – performs at 126FPS AVG at 3.9GHz. This plants the 3.9GHz R7 CPU a few FPS behind the i3 CPU. Part of this performance deficit is due to Destiny 2’s failure to acknowledge all the threads, as only the physical cores are engaging properly. We know that this isn’t the performance people want to see out of an R7, but remember that Destiny 2 is having trouble with SMT and other issues in its beta. Our confidence isn’t strong enough right now to state with authority that these results are representative of all configurations and scenarios, as the game is still developing and clearly has some issues.

Down the line, the R5 1600X performs about 2.7% behind the overclocked R7 1700. Keep in mind that, as far as Bungie is concerned, the 1600X is a 6-thread CPU and the 1700 is an 8-thread CPU, so the actual advantages of the 1700 are not reflected here. We’re looking at a 200MHz clock difference that manifests in a 2.7% boost. Both the 1600X and stock 1700 boost to 3.7GHz, making them effectively equal to Bungie’s eyes, and planting the two within variance of one another. The 1600X and 1700 are effectively equal in this game.

Intel’s G4560, meanwhile, performs at 110FPS AVG, with lows at 73 and 65 0.1%. Frametimes so far are reasonable across the board. The next closest Intel part is the 7350K, presently $70 more than the G4560 in the US, which is 19% faster than the G4560.

The R5 1400 and R3 1200 round-out the low-end of the pack, both near 94FPS AVG.

I played it in 4K HDR and it looked really good and performance was great. I used a XBOne controller with the XBOne wireless PC USB adapter. Curved UHD TV 2' from your face FTW. I could not find anything to complain about. It was the exact opposite of playing Batman on my PC.

I didn't bench it but I head everything turned up except AA, which I turned off. I played it at 30-bit per pixel color, I didn't try 36-bit. Will buy it on PC this time for sure.

Looks like you need a monster cpu like the ultra expensive pentium g4560 for 60 fps gameplay at 1080p.

Game ran pretty damn well on my system, I didn't look at the actual FPS but it felt super smooth and responsive? Was playing at 1080 but with the render setting at 130%.

It defaults to like 30 but looks like crap on that setting. Try it around 10 and see how well it works. TW3 running at native 4k on a 55" vs 4k dsr on a 27" Was negligible.

I always heard my peasant console friends talk about destiny day and night but now that I re-discovered Warframe I doubt I'll even try it.

Get away from Warframe now its a time sink. Especially before Plains of Eidolin come out the free roaming thing.

I played a year and some change ago and came back in June and its pretty much the only thing I play these days. Its perfect cause you can jump in and out of the game and not care about having to come back to it.

I will probably get Destiny 2 on deep discount at some point but that probably wont be until at least june/july time. Lets see if the game is still alive on PC by then.

Tried the beta until it ended in late August. The visuals sure stand out in 4K. I fall for the shiny surfaces effect. Can't wait until they enable the option to turn off the Hud in the pc version. For better immersion, for me at least.

I'll be waiting until late Oct, not going to buy it for my Xbone. Why? It's back to my stubborn pc attitude assuming it'll look better on my pc. And the wait isn't that bad just 4 or 5 weeks. I can handle that, I think. If it had never come out for the pc? Then you bet I'd fire it up on the Xbone.

You get that crap for free every time you level up past level 20. It's all cosmetic and completely unnecessary to playing or enjoying the game. Kind of a weird reason to write off a game.

Moving on from shaders, Destiny 2's in-game shop has come under fire for offering gameplay-affecting mods.

These mods, which can be applied to armour and weapons, boost your character in some way. Take the Impact Absorption Mod, for example. This increases the resilience of the armour it's applied to, allowing you to absorb more damage. Another mod makes class abilities charge faster. You can see why you'd want mods.

It's worth noting that currently you can only buy rare quality mods from the in-game shop, and once you finish the Destiny 2 campaign, the Gunsmith vendor character sells legendary quality mods in exchange for easy-to-obtain weapon parts, but there's no getting around the fact you can spend real-world money to get a gameplay advantage in Destiny 2. Destiny 1 did not do this.

Yeah either eurogamer is run by idiots who don't actually know how to play games, or they're taking it extraordinarily out of context.

Rare mods drop all the time. You can buy a random one with in game currency. You never need to spend real money on these.

Legendary mods also drop randomly or you can turn in your horde of rare mods for legendary ones (3 or so of the same rare mod gives you 1 legendary mod) when you hit power 280. I haven't spent a cent on microtransactions and have completed pretty much all endgame content so far without breaking a sweat.

You could run completely without mods and never notice an issue. So, again, silver is pretty much used on cosmetic items. No one buys mods with silver

I've just seen a few with microtransactions go nuts down the road

it's not out for PC yet so i'll wait and see how it runs at 4k now

I "heard" that yeah those mods aren't even good and the ones that drop are better than the ones you get with silver. Jim sterling gave the game a good review and didn't say anything too crazy about the MT, he would have railed that **** had they been as bad as some say trust me.

This. This is why i've bought things in path of exile, league of legends and warframe, but will never buy anything in destiny 2 if i do decide to ever get it.

Yeah the blue mods (which the Ps4 version vendor doesn't even sell for real money game currency) are the same as their purple counterparts. The purple ones just raise your power level by 5 each. Note also you often get gear that come with mods preinstalled. Mods as pay to win is laughable.

Now if you told me there were exclusive weapons or armor locked by MT that'd be a different story. I don't particularly like MTs in games but this is probably one of the less offensive versions of it.
