Default “Justice League” Snyder Cut Set For HBO Max

"It’s official, not only does the SnyderCut of “Justice League” exist but it is coming to the HBO Max streaming service.

Reports of Snyder screening his cut of “Justice League” to DC execs back in February emerged following a long campaign by #ReleaseTheSnyderCut supporters who have been barraging HBO Max with requests for them to release the film in the years since the theatrical cut of “Justice League” hit cinemas."

I actually liked the movie. One of the few apparently, but I look forward to seeing this.

It will be interesting. Especially since it should be more than a couple minutes longer... apparently this cut is 3 1/2hrs. That is 1hr and 30min longer than the theater cut.

Might be longer than that as a possibility is releasing it as 6 chapters.

Might bring the actors in and shoot more footage on top of reassembling all the footage he shot and rescoring the film

More surprised that they are investing tens of millions into this than they are actually releasing it.

IIRC Snyder had everything shot but most of it was cut because WB didn't like the direction the movie was heading.

Maybe all that money is going to be spent removing Cavil's mustache properly.

Not only did WB not like the direction it was going, the previous movies in this universe did not farewell. So allot of stuff that was to lead to further movies all got cut as well.

I'm kinda cautiously excited by where this could go

I'm not sure I'll feel any differently about it. The movie felt like a half baked cake, all the right ingredients, but not properly put together.

Dunno, maybe if certain aspects of the released version are removed and Snyder's version is better

I can't let go of Supes being so stupidly OP that Steppenwolf was about as much a threat as a teddy bear, among other bits...

That fight goes very differently in his cut. So there is hope there.

That's good to hear. Quite a few DC movies I've seen that had that Almost there kind of feel to it and this was one of them. It would be great to see a solid, polished version of it.

But Steppenwolf isn't nearly as strong as doomsday, which is what I was concerned about watching that movie. How were they going to top doomsday? After sups battled Dooms, you really only go downhill from there...short of maybe Darkseid (which we haven't seen yet!).

i'm not really familiar with the DC universe, or it's most dangerous villians...maybe I should have simply said the battle they filmed for the released version just wasn't enjoyable, at all. An overwhelming victory can be really satisfying, but at least make it enjoyable to watch.

Doomsday on the other hand, that was a fight lol.

I'm not really into following all the ins and outs of the comics, so these movies are strictly entertainment get-away stuff for me, so I just need it to be fun to enjoy it.

I'll give it a look, if only to satisfy my curiosity. I didn't hate Justice League, but I'd be hard-pressed to remember much about it (it was very forgettable). Only thing I remember vividly is Henry Cavill's horrible CGI anti-stache.

Potentially allot. Because it's supposed to setup Darkseid. So how he dies can really change the narrative. And considering allot of changes made removed the setups for further development, it can make a big difference.

I don't want to spoil to much. But allot of this has already leaked online though as to what Snyder originally shot & planned.

I suppose it doesn't matter, as this movie is definitely not getting a sequel.

Having followed this from the start it seems upwards of 45% or more of the movie we saw was Synder and the rest not so we will see a lot new in this cut. I am looking forward to it and at the same time not getting my hopes up. Unless we get to see Supes and WW throw down when he is in evil mode.

Maybe not as a movie. But if this does well, I could see HBO making maybe a mini series follow up.

That would be amazing, to see the DC cinematic universe fork into two separate and divergent universes. I'm totally up for that.

Hopefully the Snyder cut removes the entire movie and puts this instead

Whenever I talk to anyone about the Justice League movie, usually there's a bunch of conversation about how much of a disappointment and a let down it was.

But there were some goods parts. Most people seem to talk about how much they liked the Flash's character. It had some fun, light-hearted moments. That for most of the movie it felt weighed down and oppressive, but at some scenes you could tell what Joss Whedon brought into the movie and that made those parts "fun" at least. The competition between Flash and Supes to save people was cringey at times, but not awful.

The rest of the movie just felt oppressive, dark, and without any real soul to it. I get that people want to see Snyder's original vision, but it's gonna be awkward when we end up with a movie that takes out anything people remembered liking about the Justice League movie and leaves behind all the forgettable stuff.

What if it's all Gal Gadot?

Yea part of the reason I'm cautiously optimistic. Snyder has made plenty of movies I'm not a big fan of.
