ATI Technologies

Even if it’s 30% faster for at least $700+ is the 1180 worth it when we all know that an 1180ti will eventually get released and that will more likely be the 4K 60fps card? Personally I’d stick with the 1080ti until the 1180ti comes out but everyone’s different I guess.

the only thing that would sell the 1180 non ti to me is full HDMI 2.1 and VRR support
then I might buy two if the price is a lot lower than I think it will be say 525 and it still does 2 way sli at all

Might grab one because the 1080TI just barely cuts it at 1440p 144hz, while 30% extra would be a nice boost, along with lower TDP. Confident I could resell it when TI arrives too.

I bet NV will either cripple or exclude HDMI 2.1 because the spec includes native support for non-Gsync adaptive refresh rate displays.

The Adaptive Refresh feature of 2.1 is OPTIONAL and isn't required to be 2.1 compliant.

exclude maybe
but I think ( not 100% seen it both ways so far) VRR in a mandatory part of hdmi 2.1 so they can't say they have it without VRR

but either way with xbox and Samsung tv's going VRR and freesync now and most all tv and monitors going full HDMI 2.1 with VRR next year Gsync is dead and they have to know it

they will fight it with the nvidia bfgd but for 4400 bucks and not oled I think you will be able to buy the same thing in a full 120hz+ VRR HDMI 2.1 65" tv next year for half that

EXCLUSIVE: NVIDIA’s Next Generation Graphics Cards Specifications, Pricing And Nomenclature Details
Quote:
Here is where things get even more interesting, not only is NVIDIA planning not to align the 120W next-gen GPU with the GTX 1060 but they are planning to charge approximately twice as much as the 1060 for it. The good thing is, however, that this philosophy does not appear to be valid for the higher end lineups. These are the expected MSRPs that AIB and vendors have been informed of by NVIDIA:
•The 120W NVIDIA next-gen Turing GPU will be priced around $499 MSRP.
•The 150W NVIDIA next-gen Turing GPU will be priced around $599 MSRP.
•The 180W NVIDIA next-gen Turing GPU will be priced around $699-749 MSRP.

At the same time,
•The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti MSRP will drop in price by $100.
•The GeForce GTX 1080 MSRP will drop in price by $50.

WCCFTech "Exclusive"

It's their typical opinion prior to new architecture releases.... of course it is exclusive.

On top of that it is written by people with names that would pass as KAC's cousin and or Brother..."By Usman Pirzada & Hassan Mujtaba"

And you're pretty much getting the equivalent of medium settings.

And you're at 30 fps.

Just keep that in mind when you think you're gaming at 4k on a $300 console of all the shortcuts it has to take to get there. Still, better than PS4 Pro and it's crappy checkerboard rendering.

Might be worth watching. It isn't exactly medium settings. More like a couple of settings turned down. Of course dynamic resolution has to kick in but quite surprising that a machine that costs half of what a new video card costs (I paid 450 for mine) is pushing that hard in games whilst remaining quiet and offering me time to play on my bed.

There's rumors, and then there's WCCFTech. I'd get more reliable tech news reading the ridges on a pile of rocks than WCCFTech.
