goku369 is still being judged by the masses

Default ATI/Sapphire/Hercules/etc = same?????

This may be a dumb question but i really do have to know. I am looking into buying a radeon 9800 pro but im confused about an aspect between the different brands (mainly between Ati,Sapphire and Hercules). You when i go to sapphires webpage, they currently have catalyst 4.5 drivers. On the official Hercules webpage they have Catalyst 4.10 drivers. On Ati's page they have catalyst 4.8 out already. So my question is, will the ati drivers work with any type of card (such as the sapphire 9800 pro and the hercules 3d prophet 9800 pro) or will i just have to live with old drivers for the sapphire/hercules cards?

No worry, Cat drivers work for every flavor of Radeon cards.

Which brings up a point about Hercules; they shouldn't be naming the 4.1 drivers as 4.10, because they are going to cause confusion in October when the real Catalyst 4.10's come out. Hercules should rename this driver to 4.1. The naming convention that ATI uses is driver version [dot] release number. In October the four dot tens will be released.

Technically since ati already released the 4.1s they shouldn't name their next set 4.10. In math these are the same number. so from 4.9 we should go to 5. I am not saying ATI sees it that way.
