Default Headphone jack placement

Curious what you guys think of having the headphone jack on the bottom of a mobile device. I personally think it's bad design and ergonomics. Others claim it's more natural with how we put phones into our pockets.

So what do you guys prefer? Jack on top, slide bottom of phone into pocket for me.

I prefer it at the top.

But I also haven't physically plugged anything into my headphone jack on my phones for probably over 2 years.

I don't put my phone upside down in my pocket so I think that's weird. Top is probably best. I got fed up with plugging into the phone and bought these: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/...headset-sbh80/

Couple of reviews
http://rinchoi.blogspot.com/2014/02/...eneration.html
http://theheadphonelist.com/sony-sbh...goes-wireless/

I probably would not care if phones would rotate the screen when held upside down. But mine doesn't so it is annoying.

In general, I use bluetooth. When I do use a cord, I'm generally wanting power too, and prefer all the plugs to be on the same side. My G3 uses this arrangement, and I like it.

I take that back, I do use wired headphones when I use my i-Rig 2, allows me to use my iPhone as a guitar amp, recording setup, etc. For that, it doesn't matter what side the jack is on. I'll probably eventually update to a Lightning port model of the i-Rig.

I'd prefer top, but I hardly ever use my headphones on them as I don't own anything under 250ohms. I need to rectify that......

I prefer bottom, but I'm getting used to top load. Not turning my phone upside down to shove into a pocket took some getting used too (this is so **** doesn't drop inside the jack).

Unfortunately **** accumulates in the USB jack doing it this way.

Whatever, lets go side jack..

That's the worst option for pocketing IMO. Buy dust plugs for the jacks if you're that concerned?

I'm not really concerned with anything other than the USB jack. The others are easy enough to clean, but the micro USB is a pain to clean without hurting the contacts.
