Very nice review! The Crossfire with Eyefinity is having awesome results with 3-1 setup. The scaling is looking really good too and I do believe it has past SLI scaling in many games. ATI is kicking some with their drivers.

I am wondering if two Eyefinity edition cards would be needed for CrossfireX at this point, since you only connect the displays to a single monitor, and the GPU on the regular 5870 should be the same as on the E6 version from my understanding of it. So, could you get away with one 5870 E6 and one normal 5870, or the possibility of a 3-way 5870 setup?

Right. You'd only need the primary card to be Eyefinity 6, the second cards could be normal edition 5870's, although you'd want to use 2GB equipped cards.

The EyeFinity testing on your review is the best I've seen and by far the most pertinent for this series of card as well, also cross firing them. I wish Wavy Dave did some reviews as well since they where always very informative at Beyond3d, always finding the strengths and weaknesses. So in a nutshell best review I've read dealing with a 2gb 5870. By far.
