They put 15 minutes on the clock but whoever wins the coin toss wins the game I guess. At least the Patriots 11 month Superbowl drought is finally ended.

I was so hoping to not see Brady back again.

Go Rams!

I'm going Patriots because the Rams lost the game and dont belong there, they don't deserve a gifted Super Bowl win as well.

Someone explain this too. I'm not a huge NFL viewer frankly I don't give a ****. My brother though is a huge NFL fan, my stepfather is from Seattle so of course he is as well.

Why do they refer too Brady as the greatest QB of all time? He's a proven cheater and liar, basically the Patriots as a whole are.

The Rams shouldn't be in the Superbowl, I saw the replay and that was BS.

WTF is going on?

Brady is absolutely the GOAT. No denying that.

All teams cheat, some just get more attention.

https://yourteamcheats.com/cheaters/

Unless the Patriots still always cheat and are masters at hiding it, you can't deny they are a monster of a team when it really counts and Brady is the GOAT. The reason they are so hated is because they have been so good for so long and people are sick of them, period. Happens in any sport when one team dominates for years and years.

It was a blown call but there were a lot of missed calls in that game. I'm guessing after this NFC Championship game they're going to change the rules again for next season.

At least we'll have a pretty interesting Superbowl to look forward to.

They aren't going to change anything that would have helped the no call. They will never add calling a replay for a no call. Then a replay could be called on every down.

Good games overall for the weekend. Can't ask for much more with both games going into overtime. I would have preferred different outcomes but at least they were not blowouts.

Close and exciting games, surely. Back in the day, it seems most games were decided by the quality of play, not the quality of officiating.

Nah. Saints had a chance in OT. Drees threw an ill-advised ball and it got intercepted. No one to blame but themselves.

right, that’s why even the NFL said they blew it!

So what they are saying is the wrong team is in the Super Bowl, if they had won the game I would have been hoping the Rams win it all but in this debacle I can’t do it knowing they don’t belong there!

I'm not excusing any of the bad/missed calls over the weekend, but they have been happening ever since football was a thing. We just have more and better cameras to highlight them today.

You could say that about any ref-botched game, and it's true, but that doesn't excuse the incompetence. Just because you shoot yourself in the foot doesn't make it OK for someone else to shoot your other foot.

I think it's worse. The rules have become too complex and I'm not sure how they can back that down. Plus the game is a lot faster. Way too many flags thrown and way too many blown calls. It used to be occasional and now it's almost every game.

I think maybe the flag frequency may have peaked at the Rams-Chiefs game, and I saw a couple things yesterday that give me hope.
- TE runs straight downfield about 10 yards and the strong safety is planted waiting for him to break, but TE runs directly into the SS. No call. I saw the exact same thing about two years ago and they called defensive PI. I just about spit.
- Can't recall which game, but they actually flagged a receiver for offensive PI. I haven't seen an offensive PI call in five years, and they push off and hold almost as much as the defenders. I was beginning to think the NFL had legalized it, but noper.

Wut?

NFL has said they missed a call. Its not the first time the NFL has missed a call and it definitely wont be the last time. Calls cant be retroactively put in after a play or after a game so whats done is done. Its the same thing in all the major sports... there will always be controversial calls.

There can be no rule change next year for this instance. What happened WAS a PI call they just didnt call it. Like I said the only thing they can do is to put a rule in place for a challenge to be made for a no call. That will never happen because any play can be challenged for a no call. There are literally penalties on basically every play.

This weekend had some good entertaining games. Lets hope the Super Bowl can follow. I dont want to root for the Rams but I have to in this instance. Pats dont need another ring. Ill take the parade here in LA ****ing up traffic more than it already is to not have Brady and Beli win another.

No one is excusing it. The NFL has confirmed(I guess I havent checked any sports news today yet) that they made a mistake. It is what it is. But the game kept going and you got to keep playing. The Saints didnt and couldnt pull it off. Ultimately, they lost the game because of their own actions in the end. Theres no such thing as "they shouldnt have had to" BS because, well frankly the call wasnt made and they had to finish playing.
