Question Do you hate SUV's

I've seen a lot of threads lately bashing SUV's. I personally drive a SUV myself and I don't see what all the complaining is about. Sure I don't get as good as gas mileage as a Honda Civic and of course I take up a little more room in a parking lot but seriously I put my SUV to good use. Whether I'm towing my motorcyle, hauling around all my friends, or just cruising around town I always find my SUV usefull so why all the hate? I hate when people categorize me as the "typical" SUV driver, I don't drive around town with my head glued to a cell phone and I don't pretend to rule the road. What are your guys opinions?

I don't really care one way or another

I want either the Murano or the RX300 but I don't like Excursions or Trailblazers because of their size

SUVs = gas-guzzling waste of time, space, and money
I'm not the type of person who dislikes people just because they drive SUVs. If you're a good driver, I could care less what you drive.
But the problem is that the vast majority of people who drive SUVs are idiots (think stereotypical housewife). They don't follow traffic laws (such as signaling before deciding to arbitrarily swerve into your lane) and a lot of them think they own the road and can do whatever they want because their vehicle is freaking huge. Oh yeah, and you can't do anything about it since if you hit them, chances are their SUV will roll over and explode, killing you too.

I think to say you hate a car is stupid. Now, if you'd asked if you hated wasteful SUV drivers...

I drive one myself, Lexus LX470. They are really fun to drive, especially for offroading in the desert (no I dont take my Lexus offroading), I drive with some friends in their LandCruiser. Personally, I find them very useful, especially for longer trips. Thats my 2 cents

I drive a Corolla, so I'm pretty low to the ground. Here in Southern California, it seems that whenever I get ready to pull out of a parking lot onto the main road, a massive SUV comes up and blocks my view.

Bah

See it's people exactly like you that give all SUV drivers bad names. I am a very good driver and I always use my turn signals, always come to a complete stop, And the only accident I have ever been in wasn't my fault. So to say that all SUV drivers think they own the road is like saying all hispanic people are illegal immigrants.

Surely it is not him, but the people he was describing that give SUV drivers a bad name.

The only thing I hate about SUVs is that I can't see past the damn things when there are two lanes at a junction and there's an SUV alongside me. Otherwise the majority of SUV-haters are envious lefty losers who should be sent to live in the jungle^H^H^H^H^Hrainforest well away from the dangers of evilwhitemaletechnology.

That said, I wouldn't own one, unless it was one of those 'WTF were they thinking?' Lamborghini SUVs.

Nothing like generalizing . I drive and SUV and I consider myself a safe driver. Signal, come to complete stop at all stop signs and I never run a red light.

I drive a 2002 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4X4, I go to the desert every weekend to go off-roading. I am one of the few that actually USE my SUV for what it was built for. IMO I would not buy an SUV that was only 2 wheel drive or an SUV that is incapable of going off the pavement. Your better off buying a 4 door Honda Accord and saving the gas money.

In regards to the snow, its not really what type of vehicle your in, its what type of tires your using. Of course having 4X4 helps!

For all of you who say you can't see around SUV's and that's why you hate them. Do you also have Semi Trucks, Vans, Box trucks, Pickups with camper shells?
