Sure!

You've now joined the ranks of people who will waste hours of their lives boring other people to death with their inane and pointless advertisements about whatever activity they are currently engaged in. 99% of anything you say will be treated with disinterest, and the remaining 1% that is actually worth hearing about will be obfuscated by the rest of the crap you and others will spew out into the internet.

That about sums it up.

I ****ing hate Twitter. I signed up and it's horrible.

But I can't stop receiving tweets or whatever by Newegg and Amazon. It's like a trainwreck. I just keep looking, but it's always ****. Actually, the Newegg ones aren't that bad.

But all the good stuff comes up when I'm at work or something where I can't access a computer.

I have twitter but I just follow. Probably 1/10th as time consuming as facebook and more useful (I follow deals and news stuff). It's much more focused, and limited to 140 characters. No apps, quizzes, match-ups, farming simulations, etc. Just straight to the point, if there is one.

I follow a few people on twitter, but I only ever look at it ever week or so. Surprisingly I have like 25 followers, which will happen you will write something then a search engine will find it then you get followers.

i use twitter much like an rss feed. for news and information from people/sites who use it... some game developers like bioware and dice use it extensively to disseminate information about their games. another case is when there is a site you wouldn't visit regularly but would like to know when there are updates... for example, the developers of black mesa source put all their updates (which are usually a few months apart) on twitter... this way i keep up with progress of the mod. and finally, friends sometimes share interesting links over it. luckily no one on my list feels the need to constantly share pointless minutiae about their daily lives.

I wanted it for the news-stuff. I really did. It just doesn't work the way I wished it did. Maybe it's just the sites I follow.

Amazon's sends me way too much crap. I wish there was a way to specialize it. Like AmznTechDeals and AmnzGameDeals or something. I get a **** ton about jewelry I'll never buy.

Newegg's is alright, but seem to lag a bit. I usually see a lot of the deals on the page or in my e-mail before I get them texted to me.

I signed up for two local music venues, and I haven't received crap from them. I think one of them sent me something once.

The only people I follow on Twitter are my local friends. We use it to make plans without having to send a mass text message, and we can all converse, so it's not one-sided like texting. We also have short conversations about tech and music on there. Overall, my Twitter experience has been positive.

I see Twitter as mostly a phone app. No point in looking at tweets when you're on your desktop and have enough time to visit sites directly. Though sometimes I hear there are Twitter-specific deals and early announcements that you might miss out on otherwise.

Yeah. For example, there was a $20 off any $200 or more purchase at Newegg the other day for Twitter followers only. I was at work until after the deal expired though.
