Default Baking works!

At least for me! I had a Compaq DV6120US that when powered up did nothing. No screen, beeps, flashing led codes, just constant LED lights. So I completely dismantled to the board, including processor. Placed it in the oven on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 385 degrees. Waited till it cooled down, and sure as **** it booted We'll see how long it lasts, but for now I have a free laptop to play with!

So for all of you debating whether it might be worth it, DO IT. But make sure its on something you can't warranty, etc. Please don't be stupid. I will not be responsible for your stupidity!

You're serious right? I wonder why this would have helped... maybe it melted a loose connection back in place.

What made you think of this bty??? Did you make it up or read about it someplace?

worked for my brothers ps3 as well.

Everything uses that new lead free solder so it's more common these days.

Hmm, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RoHS_Co...ad-free_solder

could they perhaps shield electronic devices that use lead-based solder to protect people?

I'm very serious. Well I didn't read it here, but yes I found it elsewhere about videocards. Didn't know about whether this motherboard would work or not but I gave it a shot and am glad I did!

It's more to protect the workers during manufacture than the end consumers.

I thought it was related to electronic waste disposal but the worker thing makes sense.
