Default Ryzen 3600 build

Can you guys throw together mobo/RAM pairing for a friend of mine. He's decided to go with a 3600, but he won't be doing any overclocking, multi GPU setups, etc. Just something solid and relatively future-proof for out-of-the-box stability with gaming and regular computing tasks. Gracias

HU just paired a 70$ MSI B450 Tomahawk mobo with a 3900x and got full support for the monster 12 core's boosts clocks.

So that mobo is fine for any future upgrade as are probably most affordable B450's.

I dont think its worthwhile to grab a high end mobo if he intends to keep that 3600 a long time unless he needs a specific feature.

Ram should be samsung bdie 3200 cas 14 at the bottom end.

If price is an issue I'd go for the B450 Tomahawk as suggested, but go with Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3000 C15 (manually set to 3200 C16 instead) or 3200 C16. That cuts the cost of the memory in half compared to b-die and he's realistically not going to notice the difference.

If someone is buying a 3600 I don't think it's worth springing for expensive memory. If he wants to spend another $100 he'd be better off just going up to the 3700X instead.

Tell your gay friend to build a 9700K build instead.

On a serious note a 3700X is a good buy.
