Yes of course it's the 12 core chips that could cause problems - but the for the sake of simplicity they limit support to generation.

If Im limited to 8 core on my x370 its still a really good upgrade path. I kinda hope they do it on 2 chiplets tho. 4x4 for cooler oceability.

Might have to buy a cpu from a ocer like Derbauer/Caseking to get confirmation tho. Premium price on that...

AMD have stated that all Zen 2 chips will work on X470/B450 boards period. If they don't expect a major sh*t storm heading AMD's way
