Default So I finally got a video card

I'm upgrading from Intel G965 to an 8600GT OC (590/1800). Think I'll see any improvement?

Just FYI, here is my history of video cards:

Riva 128
Radeon 32meg SDR
GF4 MX 440 Go
Intel G965

-Integrated graphics. (Prince of persia, Doom, etc)
-Random card in the computer.

When i started being interested in video game graphics etc:

Geforce Mx2 (God I loved that card)

5900Ultra (POS)

9800pro (Great card, served its purpose)

X800XL (Completely transitional card, sold it a month after I bought it)

7800GTX (Died on my 2-3 months after purchase )

X1900XTX (Still going strong, good card but makes lots of noise, its big and its hot)

Next on my list is probably an nVidia card. Don't think ATi is up to par yet since the 9800 series.

K, here you go Moshpit.

Hercules monochrome
Cga card cant remember the name
Ati Vga those were damn expensive
Ati series 7 vga
Trident vga cant remember model
Trident vl bus cant remember model
Ati mach 64gt with Diamond monster 3dfx(still have)
Creative 3dblaster banshee(still have)
3DFX 5500 (still have)
MSI Geforce2 GTS( lasted 4 hours in the game and switched back to 5500)
ATI 8500
ATI 9700PRO
Sapphire X1800GTO2 flashed to just under XT speeds.

There was also a cirrus logicvga card in the early mixup.
The GTS was to see what all the hub bub about the geforces was.
Was fast but looked a bit oversaturated.
The v5 looked way better and paced it within a few frames.
Regards,
NITE

Not sure what my 486 windows 3.1 system had.

My first PC had a TNT2 ultra, then i had a Geforce 3, then a 9800Pro, after the 9800Pro i became serious about graphics, before then i was trying (understatement) to play games with a Geforce 3 , man did Unreal 2 look and run crap on that card.

Anyway, then i got (sadly as the card was crap) the Ati X800 XTPE, waited months for that to come in stock and i hated it, then i got a 7800gtx, then i got my laptop which had a 7900 GTX GO, now i have 2x8800GTX in SLI

My first trident something or other, even upgraded the memory on it. No 3D.

Number two Rage2 3dexpression + Pc2tv + the ISA tv tuner add on card ( not pictured ) Not enough games utilized it`s proprietary stuff. I remember i had a special ati copy of mechwarrior though..... great graphics.

Number three some matrox card where abouts unknown can`t remember much about this card.

Number four s3 virge the decelerator What a mistake this didn`t last long.

Number five Hercules Voodoo rush, after the s3 debacle i spent a little more. This card kicked ass I remember playing unreal on my 27 inch tv and being blown away.

Number six Riva 128 Played Battle zone like butta my first agp card.

Number seven Voodoo Banshee Great card.....a little accident with it though Not a whole lot left, poor little guy.

Number eight Radeon64 Good card no complaints.

Number nine Radeon 8500le In my moms rig chugging away no pic...

Number ten Radeon 9800pro what`s to say, hall of famer

Number eleven Geforce 6800gs modded to ultra another great card gave it to my brother he couldn`t afford any better, him being in school and all, no pic.....

Number Twelve Radeon 1950pro another good card no pic it`s in my rig.
