yes I see.

Whats the "Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology Edition" mean?
Open CL is a Apple driver.

OpenCL is not an apple driver. OpenCL is a open standard maintained by the Khronos group, of which AMD, Apple and others are members.

If you have applications that use OpenCL you use the Accelerated Parallel Processing driver to enable support on your AMD hardware (specifically Graphics boards). You can either download the driver seperately or as part of the Catalyst package (the APP edition).

I'm using the 10.10e Hotfix drivers on my HD 6870. When I start up GPU-Z...the latest version...it doesn't show that OpenCL is supported. It was working with my HD 5770, but not now.

Advice?

Install the seperate Catalyst APP driver, under optional downloads for the regular 10.11 drivers.

But, 10.11 doesn't support the HD 6870. When going through the options there's a NOTE stating to use 10.10e for now and to wait for 10.12 for official support.

EDIT: Tried it anyway. Didn't work. Still have an unchecked box for OpenCL in GPU-Z.

Try to install the ATi Stream SDK 2.2:

No, the seperate 10.11 CAP driver - it's about 10mb, not the whole driver. Under optional downloads.

I've tried Repairing the SDK 2.2 installation; installing the separate OpenCL drivers...which was already installed... and I also attempted a Repair of that.

Still, no check in the box for OpenCL in GPU-Z.

Anyway to just test whether it's working or not? It's not a "biggy" but it is a little annoying.

OK. It must be a bug in GPU-Z then. GPUCapsViewer detects everything just fine and runs the demos, too.
