I'm not sure what to expect. But it seems hard to make sense of anything else. If they don't kill the Night King where can they go to? I've seen people speculating that they'll go to the Iron Islands with Yara. But how would they get there? I can't imagine them being able to retreat to the sea with the dead overwhelming them. Although, I guess Bran did it. Or unless they literally let everyone die and only Jon and Dany fly away. But that would be terrible.

One fan theory I've heard:

The Night King doesn't go to Winterfell. He uses his army to attack Winterfell, but he takes the dragon directly to King's Landing to gather more dead. Sort of like the Whispering Wood battle in season 1 when Robb captured Jaime.

But that seems kind of far-fetched too.

This is all purely speculative conversation, so don't think spoilers are necessary.

I almost feel that at this pace, and the white walker fight already here they are telling us the answers.

Obviously we don't know who will win, or who will die. I'm pretty sure its going to be white walker takes a toll. But they still win. I actually think they will win by commanding the dead dragon. Just because it's dead, why can't it still be controlled by the family that can?

Then we will move back west for a fight, at what expense who knows.

I also think it's a given that Arya is going to either die, or very closely die, but don't forget Jaquen (faceless man) is still out to chase her. Either he kills her when she has a chance to kill the whitewalker leader, or he dies saving her. One or the other, or perhaps the hound dies for her in this process. But I can't see how they don't bring Jaquen in at some point, they made it very clear he was coming to kill her.

After researching did I miss understand the whole Jaqen H'gar part where they said Arya must die and he has to go capture her?

I don't think anybody really knows what happened with Arya's whole Faceless Men training. That whole plot was kind of a mess, and her character hasn't been particularly good since.

All I really remember is that they played that Game of Faces where he'd whip her if he caught her lying and that revealed that she didn't hate The Hound.

Then it seemed like she totally betrayed her training and became Arya again and the Waif was supposed to hunt her down. Arya won, and was able to leave with superpowers and no consequences. I don't think Jaquen is supposed to be out to get her. I'm pretty sure he just let her go.

Since then Arya has basically been a character that hangs around mysteriously.

For Arya, I'm not really sure what her endgame could be. I think pretty much Cersei is all that's left on her list. But the popular theory is that Jaime would be the one that kills Cersei.

You'd think that Arya's face ability would come into play at some point. It helped her kill the Frey's, I guess. But that sort of seemed inconsequential because the Frey's were barely involved in the plot anymore. Seems kind of pointless for her to spend 2 seasons alone in a side plot only to kill the Frey's who hadn't been seen since season 3.

Arya's face ability doesn't help much against the dead. So, it really could only be used against Cersei, or maybe The Mountain.

So, it seems like the only options would be maybe The Hound dies and Arya uses his face to do the Cleganebowl that people seem to think will happen. Or Jaime dies and she uses his face to kill Cersei. Both those ideas seem kind of dumb, and don't really seem to work in a way that would surprise the viewer since we'd see The Hound or Jaime die beforehand.

Oh man, imagine Arya imitating Cersei commanding the mountain to kill the imposter. Convincing him she's the real one, over the real one, and then commanding him to kill himself.
