![]() I've read through the ATI thread and I've tried mostly everything that was suggested but I'm obviously missing something because my tv tuner won't work. My harddrive had to be replaced so I upgraded to xp2000 and installed my wonder tv pro. Now my TV wonder pro keeps giving me the error "The TV player failed to initialize Check the Windows Device Manager to ensure that the corect video driver has been installed and is working properly before attempting to restart TV" I've downloaded and installed: tv_wonder_pro_wdm 9-14_mmc_uci ATI 6-12_xcode_38463 (however this gives me an error saying it can't find the proper hardware software) ATI 9-16_mmc_enu I've done a clean install from my original disks, then I installed the above. I installed it in this order, but maybe because the ATI 6-12 didn't install properly it caused this error? I would really like to get my tv back on my computer. Can anyone help me? |

-In the list I bolded, no where does it list The version of Video Card Display driver? Is that because? You don't have one installed, you have an ATI card but you didn't install the graphics card, or you forgot to list the video drivers, OR you have an Nvidia Card? If you have an ATI graphics card you should install the Catalyst drivers first, (Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center), and WDM (and restart) before you proceed to installing the TV Wonder pro. I'm super tired so I'm going to type fast and try and get through this quickly. Unless there's a good reason to TRY and use MMC 9.16, then I'd avoid trying to climb that mountain altogether. MMC9.10 - 9.16 were a disaster! The TV on Demand function what ATI called a feature is turned on ALWAYS, unless you hack the registry (one setting) and turn it off. But then SEVERAL things turn it back on... It's a PITA! So my suggestion is. Find either on ATI's site (getting hard to find can't remember what device still brings it up anymore ...and if you can't find it there look at some place like Techpowerup or Guru3d, others? for Find one of these: Catalyst 6.2 or Catalyst 6.1, Catalyst 5.13.....etc and if they have the CCC & WDM bundled with it get that package too. My suggestion then would be if you can find your original CD, Install the TV Wonder's drivers and (what you want of the Multimedia Center from that). It will be some version of Multimedia Center around 9.03 or older, but that's just fine for good pretty stable TV Tuner useage. Ok, can't keep eyes open any longer. I only install MMC 9.16 if the device forces me too...
