Default Do Android phones/devices still lag after some time requiring a restart?

When I had my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, I noticed I could go for several days to a week before stuttering/lag/slow-downs would start to occur. After a restart it would be back to normal. With my iPhone 6s on iOS 10.2, I do not have this issue and never see the need to restart in order to "refresh" the phone. Is this issue still there on the newer Android phones?

I have a Nexus 5X... never had to reboot except for updates.

Never a crash, lockup or hiccup.

I never had an issue like that on my Note 5. I don't really remember having an issue like that on my Xperia Z3 either.

I never had this issue with my Nexus 5 or 6. Assuming any high end device the past couple of years is fine as well.

Slowdowns like that are typically software related so maybe it was something to do with Sony's launcher?

Nexus 6P, only reboot after updates. Had the phone for about a year now.

Forcing periodic reboots via monthly security patches helps. Memory management/caching has definitely improved in newer versions of Android but I sure wouldn't trust a mobile device for something critical like a wakeup alarm.

I'm temporarily on a LG K10 with a Snapdragon 210 quad core. It's surprisingly decent, not the fastest thing but much better than I expected with such low specs.

I have a Samsung S7 and have to say no. But like previously stated it depends on what apps you have installed as well. If they are poorly coded there is your answer.

I believe I had my S7 Edge on for 50 days straight before I had to reboot for something, so my answer is no. Right now I'm at 17 days and it's still fast.
