Default How far do you charge your cellphone?

I read multiple sources online that the best range to keep your battery is 40-80%. That way the battery won't go to the extremes and lasts much longer.

However my cellphone only has 3000 mah. If I only charge it to 80%, it will often dip below 40% before I can get my next charge. So currently I charge it to 90-95% before stopping.

How about you guys?

I don't any special care around charging my phone. It's just a phone and I'll replace it if it acts up. Having said that, I usually keep phones for about 3-4 years at a time and have never had an issue around killing batteries from not following strict charging rules.

100 but I usually won't charge it until it hits low 10s. I heard the half charges are worse than anything.

That was a thing with the old NiCd batteries. My 90's NiCd powered laptop even had a routine in the BIOS for fully charging and discharging the batteries, to remove memory effects.

Pretty sure lithium polymer type batteries are not like that.

That is correct as you can read from battery university article. I just charge it to 100%, and charge once the battery reaches 30-40%

I charge my iPhone 6s overnight everynight. It is at 100% in the morning and about 30-40% by the day's end.

I also have a 5th generation iPod touch that I've owned since 2012. I wait till the battery reaches about 30% and then do an overnight charge where it is at 100% in the morning. Battery is still, pretty much, as good as new (at least I haven't really noticed any degradation).

I've only read long term storage above 75% can reduce the battery life. Unless you are storing it for a month charge it all the way up. Plus batteries can be replaced in every phone. Some are just more difficult to do.

I have always charged mine to 100%. Unplug it when i wake up at 7am, plug it back in when i go to bed around 11pm. Phone is usually around the 10-30% range when i plug it back in (all depends on how bored i got during the day and wanted to be on it). Done this pretty liberally for a long time and usually batteries last me a few years doing this.

I've had my Galaxy S3 since August 2012 and I always run the battery down and leave it on the charger when i can be arsed to plug it in. I leave it plugged in even after 100% Battery is fine and dandy even after this abuse for the last 4 years.

Onvernight to 100% once it hits 30-35% or so - usually once every two or three days.

My last phone was every night until 100%, was usually at 40-50% when plugged in. After three and a half years the battery reported 92% of its original capacity.

About arm's reach away so I have to kind of sit up when the alarm goes off...

Seriously, I just plug in my Z30 when I go to bed so it has a full charge when I take it to work. Two and a half years later, I can still get a full day to a day and a half on a full charge, depending on what I'm doing with it. That's with a modified Google Play setup installed so I can use most Android software right from the Google Play store (I listen to Google Play Music frequently on the way home from work).
