Lightbulb Call of Duty artifact problem

First, here are my system specs:

AMD AthlonXP 3000+ Barton (333MHz FSB)
Asus A7V8X (1013 BIOS, latest VIA HyperIon drivers)
1GB PC-2700 DDR-RAM (2-3-3-6)
Radeon 9800 Pro
Catalyst 4.5 drivers
Direct X 9.0b

The game is Call of Duty with the latest 1.4 patch.

Video settings

SMARTGART Settings: 4x AGP, Fastwrites Off

Desktop: [email protected]

OpenGL Settings: Default except for 4xAA and 8X PerfAniso
D3D Settings: Default except for VSync set to Always Off

The problem I'm experiencing is very strange. I play Call of Duty at maxed settings at 1024x768 in 32bit color. I have 4xAA/8x PerfAF enabled.

However, I've noticed that when I have AA enabled, I get weird artifacts in the map mp_neuville, and only mp_neuville. I have never seen these artifacts in any other map so far. These artifacts are basically things like the tree sprites or other models stretching all across the map. Often they'll flicker as I move back and forth or look up and down.

I have never seen these artifacts in any other game with AA enabled, nor have I seen them in any other map in CoD but mp_neuville.

I turned off just AA and the problem went away, so I knew AA was the culript. I can't recall a time when any particular Catalyst version didn't have a problem with mp_neuville, so I don't know if it's a driver specific issue.

So, anyone else suffer this issue? Think it's a game bug I'll just have to live with? I hate playing with just AF. I own a 9800 Pro, I should be able to use AA without any trouble.

Some people have been having similar problems with Farcry, but as far as I know it was a hardware problem.

I dont have any problem with any maps. Maybe your card is overheating? That is probably the most stressful board (if its the one im thinking about).
