Surprised not many people are talking about this game.
It's the one I am most excited for after Doom Eternal.

Made by literally 2 guys, it's a classic Doom clone (Doom clone is actually the best way to describe it).

Love the art style, it's supposed to be on a sliding scale. You can make it as pixellated/2d or filtered/3d as you want.

To me, this looks like what Doom 2016 should of been.

?

Doom 2016 was fantastic. The only thing wrong with it is it did not have any co-op campaign mode (and thanks to beth soft, it was impossible to mod in). This game is single player only too so it doesn't even fix that problem.

I can't quite tell what's going on with the enemy graphics/animation. Are those sprites? Or are they polygonal models that are rendered in to look pixelated? Cool effect, whatever it is.

It's both of those things.
You have the option to switch between 16-side sprite sheets or fully 3d models.
Classic Doom uses 8-side sprites, so it's twice as smooth as those while still retaining the old-school feel.

For the environments, the game can render from as low as 216p to 1080p+.
I suspect the lower resolutions employ a custom shader to achieve the pixelated look.

The Kickstarter page has all the info on configurability.
They need 10k more for an animation overhaul, which I hope they use to change the shotgun from an automatic to a pump-action.
