Default Remedy Gets Rights To “Alan Wake” Back

Remedy has long said it would love to make a sequel, and one was in development but was eventually scrapped. Remedy sadly never get a chance to port the first game to other consoles because Microsoft owned the publishing rights to the title.

Now, a press release on Globe News Wire confirms that Remedy now owns the publishing rights meaning they could not only bring it to PlayStation and the like, they can also finally create a sequel for all platforms. Eurogamer reports that Remedy has already started teasing a release of the first game on other platforms.

Alan Wake was a good but not great game. They also ****ed PC gamers in the ass on that one because they went Xbox exclusive and scrapped what Alan Wake should have been (open world) to cator to xbox mindless COD/GoW junkies.

I'd be more interested if they got back the rights to Max Payne. It's what made them. But then Microsoft will just buy their exclusivity again and will find a way to **** PC gamers in the ass once more, which is a recurring thing with Remedy lately. The last being Quantum Break and that **** engine that forces internal upscale reconstruction that can't be turned off on PC.

I'd be up for another one. I really enjoyed the episodic nature of the first game.

exactly how i felt. really hard to pin on what was missing. you could tell they tried hard and there are a lot of cool artistic details. maybe levels not varied enough? ill be interested in another title.

For me it just got repetitive after a while. Basically.... night forest combat, daytime cutscene break, night forest combat, daytime cutscene break, more night forest combat, etc..

I really enjoyed the AW games but felt they were strongest on the atmosphere. The Twilight Zone / Episodic TV setting was marvelously done. Gameplay was solid but unremarkable.

It was also my introduction to "Poets of the Fall" which is a big plus.

Awesome, looking forward to this one. Have played both of the AW games through twice over.

that and the combat was dull. at one point i just gave up and keep running to the next checkpoints. disappointing after how fun max payne was

only worth the few dollars spent right before pulling it out of stores.

I thought Alan Wake was good and always wanted there to be a sequel. It was totally set up for one.

The DLC (expansion?) was sort of interesting, in how you kept playing through the same events but they slightly changed, but overall it was a bit of a letdown.
