Firefox OS project terminated, layoffs ensue
Mozilla is giving up on Firefox OS, laying of 50 people working on the project. Originally started to introduce a new open source smartphone platform, in 2015 Mozilla abandoned Firefox OS smartphones and shifted focus to smart TVs and other connected devices. Source: cnet.com
