![]() Anyone know how to improve mouse tracking during fast movement? I have a Logitech Optical. Latest drivers. It used to work great. No matter how fast you moved the mouse the cursor stayed right with it. For some reason it doesn't do that anymore. You move the mouse fast and the cursor either doesn't move much or goes all over the screen. It does the same with either USB or PS2. Any ideas?

![]() I´d say either you are using different surface than you used to or the mouse is starting to give up.

![]() I noticed that with my MS Wheelmouse Optical .. still works but it feels less responsive. Playing with the poll rates didn't solve the prob.

![]() sounds like a surface issue. otherwise check out the sensor. i know people say you dont have to clean them, but if the lens is all covered with crap then that could be your problems. my logitech optical hasn't dont this yet

![]() It's the same surface. the sensor is clean. I guess the mouse is just crapping out. It is a year old.

![]() i cant think of any logical reason for it failing... although, logitech are a good company for returns. i have heard of people getting better mice out of a failure... make sure you contact the manufacturer and not the store. stores are cheap, if you contact logitech directly you may end up with a dual optical like i have :P now thats a nice mouse...

![]() I wouldn't mind an optical.. but a critical point for me not purchasing one is that I lift my mouse ever so slightly when i run out of mousing space (i have a VERY low sensitivity in CS, and running out of mousing space is very frequent.).. when I use my younger brother's optical on his computer (maintenance, or some other stuff) and i lift the mouse as much as I do, it still tracks it and it annoys the hell out of me..

![]() what? there is practically nothing in it. its a millimeter or two at most. its equal or less than a balled mouse. and turn your sensitivity up. how do you expect to whip around and headshot those backstabbers?

![]() There's nothing under it, but the light still tracks when the mouse is lifted about 3mm off the surface.. and I like having my sensitivity low.. it's one thing i've tuned CS (that's not cheating kind of tuning) so i have an advantage over everyone else.. and close range, i'm usually already prepared if someone is sneaking behind me.. one peek from the corner and they're already dead.

![]() how is it an advantage? optical mice are precise enough without needing sensitivity adjusts.

![]() It's an advantage because I can get a clean head-shot from a hell of a distance away.. and a clean headshot even when the person is near me.. I've tried the optical @ CS with my younger brother's computer.. it's the exact same thing as with my ball mouse, except I can't lift, move, drop and play with the speed i can with my ball mouse..

![]() I like watching my team mates back.. so I stay behind a few paces or so to keep an eye everywhere else.. CS was meant to be a team game, so I play like a team should.. i hate it when i'm in the middle or at the front and someone doesn't watch the rear.. it pisses me off because 1 guy can take out our whole team like that (i know, i've done it a few times already.. it's hell fun and makes for an embarassing moment for those who got killed).. I also like to sneak around.. so distance between me and an enemy is an advantage for me so I can pick 'em off..
