Default What's your average notebooks battery life?

If you have a notebook then could you please list the brand, type, (CPU etc) and how long does it run on a battery?

My gf has an A64 3400+ and the bastard only runs for 1h and 45 min*

Haven't checked the mAh of the battery but will do as soon as she gets home (that way we are all on the same page). (The voltage is 14.4V so all I need is mAh now in order to fit the lifetime vs battery power).

I did have a Dell C640 (P4-M 2Ghz / 1Gb DDR / ATI 7500 32Mb / DVD - CDRW / 60GB 7200RPM HD) I could get 3 hours out of each batt and the machine had 2 of these installed most of the time, will check mAh tomoz.

Now i've got a Acer 1620 (3Ghz P4 800Mhz FSB HT / 1Gb DDR / ATI 9700 64Mb / DVD+-RW / 60Gb 7200 RPM HD) i get between 2 - 2 1/2 hours out of that but it does have a li-ion battery (14v / 4000 mAh)

When I first got mine.. about two hours.

Now, about 30 minutes... under a light load (watching a movie).

20 under full load.

My battery degraded fast.

Ok... Veries.. I have four laptops

1)Apple PowerBook G4 333mhz 512MB SDR 6GBHDD DVD 14' LCD OSX - ~2hrs
2)Median P4 2.4GHZ 256MB DDR 30GB CDR+RW+DVD 15' TFT LCD Suse 9.1 ~2hrs
3)Dell P3 800MHZ 768MB SDR 20GB DVD 14' TFT LCD WinXP Home ~ 4hrs
4)Compaq Pentium M 1.4GHZ 768MB SDR 30GB CDR+RW+DVD 14' TFT LCD WinXP Pro ~ 3hrs (take the CD-ROM out and add the second battery I can go 6hrs!)

Overall the Dell gets the best battery life. The apple used to get a good 4 hours, but the battery is old and needs to be replaced.
