Between YouTube and the advent of the portable media player, converting and transcoding video has suddenly become a big deal for the everyday PC user, a change which has brought with it a number of applications which promise to make such tasks easy for you. Elite Bastards look at a new kid on this particular block courtesy of Cyberlink, whose MediaShow Espresso application promises quick and easy video transcoding, complete with support for NVIDIA CUDA and AMD Stream technologies, both of which we examine here.
Install and register the application (which is simplicity itself), and then fire it up and you'll see that simplicity from the very start - MediaShow Espresso's interface looks to stick to giving you the basics and nothing more.
Thankfully, this simplicity is also matched by the applications intuitive nature, and that large blank expanse within MediaShow Espresso's application window is just begging to have some videos dragged and dropped into it. Do so, and you'll find them imported into the application and ready for conversion.
