Default Great, cracked the screen of my Z3 Compact

This morning I was cleaning my phone (getting rid of the finger prints/smudges) while standing up when it slipped out of my hand and hit the tiled floor. Everything is fine except the screen (which is cracked). Screen works fine but is unresponsive no matter where I press or touch the screen. How much does a Z3 Compact replacement screen cost? I searched around and it seems it is about $100?

Most shops are around $120-150 to replace a screen.

Forgot to update this thread. I received my fixed phone last week. They replaced the screen and even the "bumpers" around the phone for $98. They even delivered the phone to my home free of charge. Looks brand new, all the minor dings I had on the phone are gone.

Glad your experience was so much better than mine.

Which company did you use? My current Z3 screen intermittently freezes the image until I give it a little wack on the back side. If they can make it as good as new, then I would consider returning the phone I just got to replace the Z3.

The company that tried to fix my sister-in-law's Z3 charged more and totally cracked up her phone.

My kids broke it, so I payed for it; even though I told her to not let them mess with it. Darn kids grabbed it off the counter she had carelessly left it on.

I used one of the local repair companies/shops that is approved by the Sony distributor here.

It didn't even occur to me to check for a Sony approved shop. Kind of feel like an idiot for that one. I just checked Yelp and rolled the dice.

I didn't search for a shop myself, I just took it back to the Sony place I bought it from (there is actually only one official Sony distributor here) and they forwarded to a shop for repairs. Told me to follow up and everything with the repair shop instead of them.
