Default PS3 Controller Battery

I just found this interesting article. I didn't know about this and if this is OFN, I'm sorry.

Check it out...

http://arstechnica.com/journals/thum...006/10/22/5700

Here's a snippet for those too lazy to click...

Quote:
With the news that Sony's controllers would feature built-in, nonremovable batteries, many were upset about buying what amounts to a disposable peripheral. Would it be a matter of going through controllers as the batteries died, and would we have to worry about the memory effect of rechargeable batteries?

You should not have to replace it in the first place.

Like stated in the comments for the article, the quote from the spokesperson doesn't say "free". It's simply an assumption and probably a false one. Don't be surprised to see a fee for the 'exchange service'.

I would not worry about Treek. It dose not have anything to do with the 360.
