Default I know there is an official digicam pics thread BUT.

I was bored and captured the coolest picture I have ever taken. I was just taking a pic of flowers and a bee happened to fly in front of my camera

What are you taking pictures of flowers for? How about something manly like motor oil stains?

Nice pic!

My uncle used to do a lot of photography, he would catch bees, then freeze them to stun them so he could place them on the flowers

Honey bees are very tame, it's the wasps and yellow jackets that look like bees that i hate. They freak out for no reason and will sting/bite you for no reason.

True. My dad does some beekeeping and we've had several beehives and thus lots of bees around at home through all my childhood. Never got stung. It took until I returned home like two years ago that I got my first and only sting. Wasps on the other hand, that you hardly ever see any of, have stung me several times.

Thanks for informing us that professionals who wait around for hours to get a closeup shot of some form of wildlife or another, often with automated equipment, have done a better job than NissanNazi did with his digital camera one sunny day when he was trying to capture some flowers. Please, just keep comments like that to yourself.

(Although, that is a nice gallery... )

If they were professionals they wouldn't be posting their images in such a public and very large gallery like that. I guarantee for most everyone there it's a hobby. I can't tell you the number of times people have said "You should create a portfolio and send these to National Geographic or something" and they just shrug it off. It's not as time consuming and monotonous as you make it out to be.

For example, here are a few pics I managed to snag on a stroll through a local park (this was last year). I didn't sit on my ass in one spot and wait for something to show up.

Here's a frog that just happened to be sitting by the pond in my backyard:

I don't consider myself a great photographer, nor am I trying to detract from a great picture. However, some of you are just getting a little too giddy over it.

Personally, I wouldn't post the original pic. It's resized for a reason
