Default Asus Transformer (not Prime) TF101

I notice as of late there are seemingly tons of Refurbished Asus EePad Transformers at numerous etail sites (Newegg, Circuit City, Staples, Tiger Direct etc.),, and was wondering why all of a sudden a huge influx of refurbs ? Are they prone to premature failure and then "fixed" under warranty only to be resold/returned ? It seems everywhere I look there are 1st gen Transformers that are "Factory Refurbished" on "Sale". Generally I don't have a problem buying a refurb'd product but seeing soo many of a specific product being sold as such makes me a bit cautious .. many/most of which are only covered for 3 months by the manu (Asus).

It's probably more likely that they're clearing inventories since the TF201 and the upgraded model are coming out with even newer tablets from Asus on the horizon.

Only possible mass RMA issue I know about is the dock battery drain problem.

I heard lots of people returning the Transformers (bought from Staple, Walmart & other mass merchants) after holiday seasons.
