Default 4870X2 hitting 106C idle at 100% fan speed, help!

Their was only one driver that fixed my excessive hit issue and I can't remember what it was. Can anyone recall a driver that fixes heating issues because I can't play games unless I want my computer to fry at the moment. I cleaned it up so dust is not a problem. All my fans in my pc right now are 100% just to keep it alive while I type this.

Another question, how fast is a 9800GTX+ compared to a GTX 260/4850 iin performance? Right now I'm more than willing to kick this $550 piece of **** right out the window and buy something affordable and lackluster in comparison just as long if it doesn't prove to be a fire hazard, power hungry, buggy turd.

Thanks.

The 9.5 beta in this section fixes the idle powerplay bug. Grab it! (gtx260 >>> 9800gtx ~ 4850).

BTW, 4850 is a bit faster than 9800GTX when applied high resolution.

Its seems I need to get a new card because I don't even have time to install new drivers before the card overheats and my screen goes blank.

And you're sure it's a driver issue? Maybe the card's HS is loose?

Definitely something wrong with the card. Is the fan spinning?

RMA it!

It's not a bug, it is a faulty hardware issue. You should RMA.

Everything is tight and the fan is spinning, but I'm gonna take it apart anyway just to make sure.

While I don't doubt your abilities, are you not at risk of voiding your warranty if you disassemble your card?

Didn't have to. Everything was tightly in place and seemed in perfect condition. Except as soon as I took the card out I heard a screw wiggling around. Turned the card upside down and it fell out. Wasn't a screw that went to the card though. Must have dropped it in there by accident when doing something else. Can't be sure if that was the cause or not. I'll try to talk to Sapphire today and see if I even have a warranty.

Really strange that a screw ends up inside the fan.

Shhh...if Sapphire knows they won't RMA.

Still, good question. No screws missing anywhere, but it does look like the screws I use to normally screw the card into the PCI-E slots. So I probably got retarded and let a screw fall out of my hand(if that was the case then the screw would have been in there for months). *shrugs*

But yeah, they got a 2 year warranty and I'm gonna RMA it.

Thanks for all the replies gays.
