Thes articles are dated December 2020. It says Nvidia HAVE signed a multi-billion $ contract with Samsung for 8nm wafers for RTX30 series.

Can't see them spending multi-billion $ on Samsung and releasing the 4080 on 5nm with TSMC this year. Most of the reports regarding TSMC seem to be just click bait and pure conjecture TBH.

if it ever does see the light of day which i highly doubt it or it will be just more unobtanium

if it does it will depend on memory 12gb 999 FE maybe but with the latest price increases most likely = 1049 to 1099

a 3080 ti FE 16 to 20 gb = 1199
and a Strix 1349 and on ebay for 1999

Also agree. Here in the UK there are still thousands who've paid and still waiting in a queue for 3080 from launch day. As I said in an earlier post Nvidia are better off fulfilling those orders first before launching a 3080ti. Can you imagine the uproar if they released the 3080ti with 20gb before they had fulfilled orders for the 3080 10GB?

Personally I don't understand this paying your money up front and then waiting nearly five months to get a card. Couldn't get a 3080 so upped my budget and got a 3090 which I'm enjoying for over a month now. If you look at O/C UK forum there's loads of people like me just buying the 3090 because they can't get hold of a 3080.

I think you're looking at least £$1,399 for a 3080ti and they'll move the 3090 to £$1,599 or more to differentiate. We all know Nvidia.

The only two games I really wanted the 3080 for was Watch Dogs Legion and Cyberpunk 2077. After the last couple of patches Watch Dogs Legion performance is finally up to snuff even with ray tracing on with just some minor tweaks, nothing compared to the performance atrocity at launch. I'll be able to enjoy multiplayer modes and DLC content once they're released with current settings.



Cyberpunk I bought but don't plan on playing until the game undergoes a few major patches, which should include some performance improvements as well.

Not really any other game that would sweat a 3080 right now. Getting alot better performance over my 2080Ti helps alot as well, the 3080 really let me enjoy Horizon Zero Dawn at 4k 60fps locked with everything enabled.

Exposed you've got a 3080 so what do you think a 3080ti is going to do? It will sit between the 3080 and 3090 so maybe 10% more than a 3080 but obviously double the VRAM. It won't beat a 3090 so for anyone who already owns a 3080 it might not be a great upgrade. If you're on a 1080ti or say a 2080 hell yeah.

I was tempted to keep the 3090 FE but I could not justify the cost over the performance gain over the 3080.

If I did not have the 3080 I definitely would have kept it, no questions asked. I canceled the order because I did not trust myself not to have kept it once I had it.

I had it all lined up, the buyer for the 3080, the long term no interest financing for the 3090..... just could not do it for 10% more FPS.

You were lucky you already had the 3080 so as I've said to Exposed not a big upgrade for you. I came from a 5700XT and in some games, without RT, I'm getting 75% to 100% improvement using Ultra settings. Other games a bit less. Wow.

I can actually play with RT and I can get up to 100fps with RT Ultra, no DLSS at 1440p. Amazing. From my point of view that's a major upgrade. Worth the money to me TBH no financing involved just paid for it there and then. No regrets.

Ya 3080ti isn't coming any time soon..makes no sense putting a card out there 2% slower and 4gb VRAM less than 3090, and making $500 less profit on it.
Those who said skip 3080 and wait for it....you keep waiting.
