Ignore Poopiji. He has only played 1 class (the worst class

) during his entire time with D3.
That's less that 15% of the game.

I don't get players who hate on the game simply because they got bored.
The game is dead because Blizzard let it die, not because the game is bad.

If you just started playing it, it's gonna be a great experience since everything will be new to you and the combat is beyond compare.

I don't hate the game I hate the player..er the company...they sold out therefore all their properties can suck a big fat horse dick. Game was awesome up until powercreep killed it and everyone stopped playing. They killed it for me when powercreep became the only thing they did every season. They executed my interest in the entirety of Blizzard as a company when they announced Diablo Immortals and kept ****ing up their pr about the whole situation. Also I played other classes they all sucked compared to the Demon Hunter so you shut yer whore mouth before you take an arrow to the knee the thigh and I shoot your pickle off >:E

I don't get the public outrage over Immortal. I guess a mobile game outsourced to a 3rd party developer technically counts as 'selling out' but does it really?
Are corporations not allowed to make easy money, especially when no time and budget will be siphoned off from the development of Diablo 4?

Oh there is a definite disconnect between knowing what your audience wants and delivering exactly that, but that has always been the case with Blizzard.
The company has never ever catered to anything but what they themselves wanted to do.

The only time they capitulated was when they shut down the RMAH.
Such a greedy company right?

I get that expectations were subverted when a mobile game was announced at BlizzCon, but as much as we wanted it Diablo 4 was never going to show up on the radar before 2020.

And even when Diablo 4 does come, it won't be designed to be played forever like PoE.
Unless it features microtransactions, it will follow the same development cycle as D3 which is 4-5 years of regular updates and expansions before they run out of steam.
You know, like every single Blizzard game ever that wasn't WoW

.

Hearthstone, Overwatch and Heroes don't count.
Those are multiplayer competitive PvP titles where infinite replayability comes naturally.

The problem isnt the mobile game. It was the news about the mobile game. The way it was presented has coloured the news itself in a foul putrescent stench. If there were other news at the time, or something worth celebrating and the mobile game was only brought up on the side, no one would have cared.

Actually no, it WAS the way the news was presented. Even the staff didnt have time to prepare properly, because they were preparing for a completely different reveal that got scrap right before the convention and the mobile game was then shoe horned into the top slot.

Isn't that the literal definition of subverted expectations?

There was nothing disastrous about the presentation itself.
As a non Switch owner, I was actually somewhat interested.

It was a mobile game reveal, they aren't exactly headliner material.
The problem was it was a Diablo mobile game reveal when everyone was expecting D4.

Had it been an entirely new franchise/genre like Hearthstone, Blizzard would've coasted by on some lukewarm reception instead of the severe backlash we witnessed.

I logged in and remained at the title screen and logged out realizing I dont have a clue about this game anymore as its been so long.

Was going to do the challenge rift but after 10 utter failures to get to the RG, looks like I pass. Hate glassy DH builds.

Update: Got more practice in and beat in on first try when season began. Sure make life easier to start the game.

Well, I was bored (and had no money to get Anno 1800

) so I decided to kill some time with Season 18.

My kids watched me playing (9 and 7 year olds) and wanted to play with me. They have seen me play this game since forever (the younger one used to sit on my lap when I was playing back in 2012) so I decided to create them an account and let them do the trial (the first act). My daughter (9) love it, and my son was even more eager to try.

So, despite them being too young, I may play with them a bit, this game is more cartoonish than anything so I think they will be safe.

They are also in their way to learn english as a second language so it's a good exercise for them

I am feeling the itch bigtime. The 'LoN' gem and new amulets sound fun.

Think I'll hold out until the promised Barbarian buffs though; especially since D3 is the kind of game I enjoy immensely but only in short 3-month bursts.

That gem could be nice if you are pushing no-set build passed gr100. It will take full ancient equipment gr100 before it matches the LON set buff.

Well yea, full ancient is kinda the point otherwise LoN rings would become redundant. I read it only matches the LoN bonus at Rank 100.
Although given how easy GR100 must be now after the latest powercreep, a Rank 100 gem is surely within reach of the entire player base.

Actually when I think about it, they should just give the LoN rings a different bonus now, because there's no way anyone will want to use the actual LoN rings over a Rank 100 gem (2 ring slots are much more valuable than 1 gem slot).

If anyone is doing season, do the Challenging Rift. It is a Necro build. Stupid easy. I had no idea how to play the build so just pushed buttons and finished with over a minute and a half to spare. Easy path to matts for the cube.

GR100 down in 8:30 with just P800 and 0 augmented gear

In Season 12, GR100 took me P1100 and I think 8-10 pieces augmented with +450 stat (that's a 6000 stat difference, which is around +50% damage).

Must say, Legacy builds are fun to build, it feels rewarding to achieve permanent Berserker without Set bonuses.
Plus there's so much room for experimenting; if you find a skill changing item it encourages you to change your playstyle (like an arpg ideally should be, instead of Set bonuses telling you how to play).
