SimCity patch released, includes offline play, performance improvements
One year after release, SimCity is now finally playable offline, thanks to a patch released today. As of about 10am PDT, the game should be playable as normal for most everyone, if not everyone; offline play should be good to go for all.
Alongside the offline play comes a new Single Player Mode, said to include "multi-city play, regional interdependence, and city specialization", as well as limitless save games and the ability to disable auto saves for maximum experimentation.
Also included with the patch: performance optimizations for multiplayer and single player modes.
Head here if you're interested in an offline play FAQ; boot Origin to grab the patch.
