Default Augmented Reality & Mixed Reality

Have any of you guys been keeping up on this stuff, or even better - used one of them yet?

Sounds like we're on the verge of a major technology breakthrough with mixed reality and companies like Magic Leap. Virtual items so realistic that you won't even need a smartphone, or a computer monitor, or even a television - it can project all of them.

The US Navy recently came out with an augmented reality headset. Microsoft HoloLens is on its way.

Give it 10 years, this could be nuts - it could transform society. Or is it pie in the sky? Anyway, thoughts?

I personally shiver, both with fear and anticipation.

A lot of the stuff so far only seen in movies (Strange Days, Minority Report just to name a couple) seems right around the corner.

In both those movies the future seemed pretty f**ed up and scary btw.

I would like a virtual assistance. I have a hard time imagining AI will be as good as portrayed in the T.V show Humans.

Do think CPU will be fast enough run that kind of programs? I can't see CPU making that much of a leap.:/

AR seems so much better than VR.
This looks to be excellent also.
