Just got that yesterday, I was using fastpictureviewer but I think it was slowing my system down. Windows codecs + lightroom3 on two monitors, I am a happy camper.

Seen this the other day, on the nikon side the D7000 along with the newer bodies are not supported. DOnt know if it actually works tho, havent tried it yet. But i do use the fastpicture viewer codec which seems to work just fine for me with windows pic viewer. Ive also been even using picasa 3+ which i find its viewer to work really well, so well that its my default viewer now... after some minor customizations of course.

IR. I had an old Sony PS sitting around and converted it. I used 2 layers of overexposed, developed, film for the filter which I put in place of the original IR filter.

Thing is I forgot about white balance. The camera doesn't allow for a custom white balance and so everything is in purple unless I shoot black and white.

I'm still satisfied with the results. I have a new toy.

You could be to close. You'll have to find out what your focusing distance is with that lens. On my 300mm nikon prime, it's 8'. On that picture you quoted I was about 9' away and that was actually on a windy day. He was whipping on that weed big time. A fast shutter speed should help out. I shot that one at 1/1250, f4, iso 250.

If you haven't already, I'd buy and read a book titled, Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. It will get you through the basics and on the right track with experimenting with settings.

i do 1000 on longest side. I find its a good balance between size and detail.

I only upload fullres on the backend of my website (gets resized for viewing). Everywhere else it's 1023 or less on the longest side. For my other gallery on DSLReports if your image is 1024 pixels or larger the regular view gets resized and you have to click a link on the side to see the original.
