windows 2000 service pack 2 or service pack 3?

i need some help on deciding which service pack to install. i heard that service pack 3 is slower then 2, but is it really? which one is the better choice?

I always go for the latest service pack. And I never heard anything about significant performance losses with Win2000 SP3.

SP3 likes to be more of a ram hog i've noticed, though i've put off picking up another stick of 256 for too long.. only real problem i've noticed
