Default Thoughts on 2012 Camaro 2LT V6

Thinking about going to look a the above mentioned auto. It's pretty much loaded. Twenty inch factory rims. Reverse camera. Leather. All the guages. RS package.
It has 53,000 miles. Asking price is thirteen. Thing is I've never driven a newer Camaro and I've heard the view from the inside is horrible. So thoughts?

No. Just no.

This is going to sound like a douche comment, but it's not! If you are looking for a cheaper used car... Don't get one with 20" rims. The tires are insanely expensive and they bend very easy. That's a lot of money to dump on a $13k car.

Twenty inch rims .. gross.

It's a V6. The Camaro is heavy as all hell. The only cars worth buying in those Mustang/Challenger/Camaro/Charger bracket are the ones that have V8s.

I certainly understand that. And I'm doubtful I'll get this car. My SS Impala has way more room and just 41,000 miles. Guess I've just wanted one since they came out again ten years ago.

Also voting no, and no on anything with 20" wheels on it. Big, heavy, expensive boat anchors just slowing everything down.

Test drive it. If you like it, go for it. If you don't, look for the next option.

No V8 is a no go for me on a stang or a camaro. I would keep the SS over one of those.

I would save up a little longer until I could afford a V8.

Interesting tidbit I found. My V8 Impala weighs sixteen pounds less than the V6 Camaro. 3712 to 3728. Blows my mind. I think I'll stick with what I've got for now the LS4 has plenty of power for me.

I agree that the Mustangs/Camaro's are big/heavy, there's no getting around that. But if you're just driving around and drag racing, that's where the V8 comes in. For example, a 2018+ Mustang GT is capable of 11's in the 1/4 with the auto. Not a slug, that's respectable.

Why not a Chevy SS?

400HP V8, manual tranny, total sleeper.
Holden product from Australia so exotic.

Would love one. Totally out of my price range.
Bought my wife a new car this year. Our first. This is a secondary car/toy for me. Caring for my son everyday I put very few miles on a car now.

Find a Pontiac G8 then.
Its pretty much the 'previous generation' of chevy SS, not sure if it comes in a stick though.

Or Pontiac GTO..

Chevy SS, Pontiac G8, and Pontiac GTO are all rebadged Holden cars.
RWD / V8 / Manual Transmission [option]

All depends how much money he has to spend and if he would prefer a coupe [GTO] or sedan [SS and G8].

I've been looking for one of those three for a while. Anything in a two hundred mile radius of me has way over 100k miles with a asking price of 15-20.

The G8 is actually a good looking car in my opinion.

I'd romp a stick shift version.

Those are good options if you only care about going fast in a straight line. The Camaro's suspension geometry and chassis design is much better than those others.
