Default Trouble with 9700, which chipset?

Okay, this is not a troll but what I feel might prove to be a useful poll. Another posted noted that the majority of the problems being reported with the 9700 are from users with AMD based systems. I am persoanlly curious if this might be true. So please dont turn this into a flame war, just some simple info here.

If you are having any problems with your 9700 please post your chipset maker below.

I should have been more clear in my post. I noticed that most of the problems are from users with VIA/SiS chipsets and the majority happen to be AMD users. That shouldn't preclude Intel users that use a non-Intel chipset either.

Joker, your post those is a good thought. My personal experience has been bad with non-Intel components. This might even help the gang at ATI track the issues.

No Ali and Nvidia for the AMD side? I would think Ali should be there.

I really do wanna see the outcome, via will be up there for problems but I'm betting it'll actually be close to intel.

Thanks if you can add the other 2 as well.

I cannot edit the poll, my goof, should have also included nVidia. Hopefully a moderator will see this and correct it for us.

Good old offical Intel chipsets, helps me sleep at night knowing I've just spent Ł300 on a graphics card that might not work when it arrives. BTW could someone do a poll for people who are having NO issues with their 9700 and what chipset they're using...

Intel/Intel, using a D850EMV2 MB. With my first card, the computer would not cold boot. Second card cold boots fine. And then there's the wierd scrolling lines thing that I sometimes get.

Have you had any D3D issues with that motherboard? Did you fix these issues?

I am asking this because I'm considering changing my motherboard (P4S533) for an Intel one.

whooo looks like Via is doing well. Must find out what their market share is? 80% or something?

Point 2? WTF 37 VOTES!!! IS THAT IT!

Well based on the other thread (poll: which is working) it looks like there are as many success stories of AMD/VIA as there are failures.{points to the 9700 card/drivers being the issue} However, I do notice that there is a disparity with Intel/SIS. There are a considerable amount more failures than successes reported. Of course, this poll is entirely unscientific...

This poll is a nice idea, but it doesn't really tell you anything. If you'll care to notice...

the VIA chipset causes the most problems in this poll
the VIA chipset works the best out of all chipsets in the other pool.

The poll results contradict each other and are simply a reflections of the popularity of VIA chipsets.

Ever think that maybe most people here have boards with a VIA chipset?....

Like already said above, seems like all chipsets have the same amount of GOOD votes as BAD votes, with VIA's AMD chips being way ahead in BOTH.
